Church Demolition

As with the subject of death, no one ever looks forward to discussing their home church needing to be taken down. Even employees here at Church Services Group have had their personal church’s closed, merged, or moved at one point or another, so we are no strangers to the difficulty of the process involved. If it needs to be done, however, why not choose to work with a company that can sympathize with you as well as understands the difficult-yet-complicated process that is taking place? As a bonus, our company can repurpose architectural items from your current church to go into your own new church, or even into another church to use and enjoy. Our team would love to come alongside your community even if it’s just to point you in the right direction. When you feel ready, email us here.

“When is the right time to let go of a church?”

The answer we all want to hear is “never” …but unfortunately that can’t be the case this side of heaven. As Ecclesiastes 3 states, “There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens… a time to tear down and a time to build… a time to mourn and a time to dance.”

“What all is involved in a church demolition?”

To begin we will at least need the address to obtain an aerial view of the church building via Google maps satellite view. This will give us a good idea of the layout as well as access points for any heavy machinery. At some point a site visit may be necessary to move forward with the process. If we choose to place a bid and it is accepted, depending on the season and our current workload, we can begin movement on the project nearly right away.

“Why is Church Services Group involved?”

We sometimes wish we didn’t even offer a service like this because we don’t want to be associated with such a painful subject, but then we think about other companies out there and how many of them take advantage of the church, and we quickly remember why we do indeed offer this service: to protect and aid the church. Church Services Group brings 4 things to the table in relation to this subject:

  1. Understanding and sympathy because our employees personally understand what it’s like to go through difficult church transitions.

  2. Experience from walking with hundreds of churches in the past through similarly difficult circumstances.
  3. Competitive demolition bids to help keep costs low during a time where finances are obviously tight.
  4. Additional bids on items from the church’s interior/exterior with the reassurance that there is a 95% chance we will get the items back into another church; after all, that has been our company’s primary purpose and responsibility for many, many years.
